Locking Reconstruction Plate for the Management of Diaphyseal Femoral Fracture in a Dog
نویسندگان
چکیده
Fracture of the long bone is a commonly encountered orthopaedic problem in canine practice (Aithal et al.,1999). Femur fractures are one most common affections dogs comprising 35 % hind limb and 24 %of all (Johnson al., 1998). Proximal distal epiphyseal happen young animals, whereas diaphyseal metaphyseal more frequent older animals(Guiot 2012, Abd El Raouf, 2017). They difficult to repair due fact that such recumbent need early rehabilitation establish speedy recovery. The closeness abdominal wall proximal femur surrounding heavy muscles limits use coaptation external skeletal fixation for femoral fractures.

Use of locking plate in combination with dynamic compression plate for repair of tibial fracture in a young horse
Grade 1 open spiral fracture of left tibia in a 1.5 year-old horse was treated using a combination of 4.5 mm locking compression plate (LCP) and a dynamic compression plate applied in a neutralization manner. The open wound was managed postoperatively by regular dressing and lavage. Radiograph at 24 days post-treatment revealed callus formation and at two months complete bridging callus was obs...
متن کاملTibiotalocalcaneal Arthrodesis Using a Femoral Locking Plate
The goal of a tibiotalocalcaneal arthrodesis is to create a pain-free, stable hindfoot and ankle. Although a reserved procedure, it is useful when simultaneous ankle and subtalar joint pathology exists. Numerous complications have been reported after tibiotalocalcaneal arthrodesis, most importantly nonunion. Locking plates have proved to be a more stable construct than alternative forms of arth...
متن کاملProximal femoral locking compression plate for proximal femoral fractures.
PURPOSE To review short-term outcomes of proximal femoral locking compression plate (PF-LCP) fixation for proximal femoral fractures in terms of postoperative complications and failure rates. METHODS Medical records of 21 men and 5 women aged 22 to 85 (mean, 49.7) years who underwent internal fixation with the PF-LCP for proximal femoral fractures were reviewed. Younger patients (mean age, 38...
متن کاملMinimally invasive plate osteosynthesis using a locking compression plate for diaphyseal humeral fractures.
PURPOSE To assess outcomes of minimally invasive plate osteosynthesis (MIPO) using a locking compression plate (LCP) for 42 humeral shaft fractures. METHODS. 28 men and 14 women aged 18 to 68 (mean, 34; median, 29) years underwent closed reduction and MIPO using a LCP for type 12-A (n=26) and type 12-B (n=16) humeral shaft fractures. Eight of the patients were aged ≥ 50 years. Patients were fol...
متن کاملOutcome of pertrochantric fracture of the femur treated with proximal femoral locking compression plate.
Pertrochantric femoral fractures are one of the most common fracture in old patients with variety of complications. However fixing Pertrochantric femoral fractures properly is clinically challenging. We report the outcome of pertrochantric femoral fractures treated with Proximal Femoral Locking Compression Plate (PFLCP) using Minimal Invasive Percutaneous Plate Osteosynthesis (MIPPO) techniques...
